After 9years having last performed together in the City of Kings and Queens Willis and Taz of Africa Revenge put up one of the most amazing and exquisite performances at Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo 2015 Official Opening. Their performance was top notch and next to none.
Lets Talk Muzik
To be frank I haven’t seen Africa Revenge this strong and tight on stage, their stage presence was so tantalizing. It was evident that they really meant business this time around and there were screams all over as they took to the stage. Africa Revenge fielded a very strong guitar trio of Rodwell Roda aka Rodriguez on lead guitar, Tendai Manatsa on rhythm guitar and the left handed and stylish Josh Meck on bass guitar.
In an exclusive interview Willis and Taz they thanked Intwasa and the people of Bulawayo who embraced them and believed in them when they started off their musical journey as small boys. Getting into the history of Africa Revenge Willis and Taz revealed that ‘Africa Revenge’ was a project which had about 14 groups, as time went on most of the people left the country and they (Willis, Taz and Chichi) decided to adopt the name, they remained the two of them after Chichi got married.
As Africa Revenge (Willis and Taz) they have recorded one album which had the hit song ‘Wanga’ which went viral on the local and regional scene. They admitted that the music industry has grown over the years though there is still more room for improvement.
Their Manager Mr. Kuda Humba says the guys are in the studio working on an album which he said they are not in a rush to bring it and it has some very exciting collaborations. He expressed that they are taking their time so that they produce a product that is excellent. Mr Kuda opened up to say over the 9years the guys where not together many people tried to bring them back together but to avail, he continued to say that what makes him happy is that when they got back together was their own decision with no influence from other people.
He also said that the spirit in the camp is awesome and happy that they retained most of the band members that originally started at Africa Revenge.
