In most typical cases, famous personalities are self-absorbed and concerned with their own affairs. That is not the case with Bulawayo Afropop sensation, Mzoe 7.
While the majority goes about its business not sparing a thought for the less fortunate, Mr. “GAGAGUGU”as he is affectionately known by his fans took his time to give back to the community.Mzoe7 at the beginning of this month embarked on a campaign to contribute towards the stationary needs of a primary school situated in his home township, Entumbane. The star even went out of his way to make a custom tee-shirt/iskipa for the whole initiative titling the skipa “Iskipa seEducation”.
We never donated but planted a seed. Its not charity but i believe everyone is responsible for children out there.-Mzoe7
The movement received donations from the public and other prominent names in the entertainment circuit like the likes of Dj Skaiva and local couture wizard, Crox. Donations were accepted in any form of gratuity but Mzoe emphasized more on the books as the whole campaigned is centered on providing learning material.
Following a successful lobbying run, what ensued was a handover ceremony which took place at Ntabeni Primary School in Entumbane. Despite suffering bodily harm sustained from a recent road accident, Mzoe7 put on a brave front and pulled this through, talk about community before self.
In as much as this may have been an arduous task, Mzoe7 contends that he does not stop here. Coming next is a single that he created in a bid to raise awareness about the epidemic, Ebola. Although our own nation is not affected, Mr. GAGAGUGU” still feels burdened with the obligation not only to serve Zim but Africa as a whole. It’s comforting to know that our stars care.
