A festival is a day or period of celebration, a program of cultural events, celebrations or entertainment. Intwasa 2015 Day 4 was a day we expirienced the best of art in the City of Kings and Queens.
Day 4 was marked with some amazing perfomances at different venues. The one that really stole my heart was the Acoustic Night held at National Art Gallary. Zaza the Zazalicious of Star FM was the MC for the night and Oh My God there was never a dull moment, in my view she is one of the finest in the industry.
Tariro neGitare took to the stage and oh boy she nailed it, besides her powerful vocals she strummed the guitar with so much perfection and excellency. Being an artist that has shared stage with the great Oliver Mtukudzi, Zahara and toured in many countries in Europe you can only expect such heartfelt and a one of a kind peformance.
There where many amazing artists that took to the stage at the Gallary which was filled to capacity and made the acoustic night a night never to forget that included Munyaradzi Nyamarebvu who has worked under the watchful eye of Oliver Mtukudzi, the talented singer/songwriter and poet Maya who is a Motswana by nationality and Zimbabwean by marriage.
Also to grace the stage were the equaly talented Fungai Nengare who had rigged an all black attire complimented by a black bowtie and the ladies man PrayerSoul who had all the ladies screaming their lungs out, even Zaza couldn’t resist the charm also.
At the Ingwebu Stage which was pitched up at the City Hall Car park there were fireworks. In few occassion where you see the crowd dance for over three solid hours and still scream for more. It was an evening to remember as Ndolwane Super Sounds, Jeys Marabini belted popular tracks.Marabini had the crowd chanting the famous chant into’yenzayo siyayizonda as he incoparated it to his music and his old school bassist Mandevu and the band played along to the chant. Jeys’ backing vocalists cum dancers which included a talented gospel musician Dumi Nyongolo wowed the crowd.
To put the icing on the cake of Intwasa 2015 Day 4 was none other than the energetic Clement Magwaza. There is just so much to say about this guy as he had the crowd on the dance while enjoying their Ingwebu brewed ‘drink’. His dancers and band are freaks (in a nice way though), these guys left my head spinning as I was asking myself how on earth do these guys dance that fast tempo music for over an hour with the same energy. These guys left me shoked.
Tonight the festival goes to another moment asSensational Winky D the Ninja President will be peforming live at the Large City Hall. Make sure you get your ticket now to avoid disappointment.
