Born in Middleburg on the 13th of October to Florence Baphelile and Sam Mahlangu, Bonginkosi Mahlangu now known as Kid X has had an unorthodox rise to fame having been discovered after being recommended to Teargas’ K.O. by would-be group member Smashis during the formation of Cashtime Fam.
Right after scoring three consecutive number ones’ on YFM’s Hot 9 Nine Hip-hop chart, Kid-X put his solo career to an abrupt halt to join AB Crazy & Smashis in the group Cashtime Fam.
1.Cashtime Fam took a while to cement it’s identity as a group with the changes in personnel and initially being combined with the other three members of Teargas but after the release of Goodbye all the initial stutters were put in the past and the trio had 2011 biggest hip-hop song in the bag. The song topped the charts and the trio had throng of girls around the country we’re eating out of the palms of their hands.
2.In 2012 Kid X made a name for himself outside of the group when he was featured on 2012’s biggest hit, BoomShakaLaka with Kwesta.
