Lincoln Makore AKA Linc Banks a rapper based in Bulawayo whose hope is to one day make it big in the music industry both locally and internationally. “I like to believe my style of rap touches a lot on the lyrical content and the message I’m trying bring home than anything else”, says Linc Banks.
Born on 20 April 1992 Linc banks is inspired by Drake. He says he thinks of himself as the Drake of Bulawayo because most of his work is Drake inspired. This is evident in one of his latest track called Run This City which featured Assassin Senko. In the track he talks about being at the top of his game right now.
“Hip- hop is what I live and breathe and I would like to see the nation warm up to it as well as they are doing other genres because I know most people focus a lot on the negatives of hip hop but fail to see how rich it is in positive teachings”.
When urbanculxure asked him about the state of hip-hop this is what he had to say, “The Zim-hip hop awards are a great step in the right direction but I feel there is still so much more that can be done, I would like to thank Mr Beefy Harrison or opening doors for us.
Linc banks will be releasing his debut album on the 26th June 2016 titled “JUNE26”. “My album is almost complete and am still hoping to get Mbo Mahocs, Tehn Diamond and Stunner for the album. When asked about beef in the Zim Hip Hop Scene he says
“Work hard each day, and live a legacy behind.” –Linc Banks
