Untikololotshi stage playwill run at Theatre in the park on the 6-8th of July 2016. This will be the second performance of Untikolotshi after it premiered at the National Gallery in April and received an amazing review.
Untikolotshi which means the goblin is a story of a young girl who has a baby and refuses to name his father .She gets miserable as the goblin continues to threaten and abuse her. She finally confesses who the father of the baby is and her father takes drastic action to deal with the goblin.
The play is packed with suspense, twist and turns that keeps the viewers intrigued, entertained and glued on the stage. It was written by Nonhlalo Dube during British Council and Royal Court Playwriting program in 2014 and is directed by Styx Mhlanga.
The cast consists of Fortune ‘Folomani Ruzungunde, Tsitsi Gumbo, NomvuyisoMabi, Greatjoy Hlatshwayo, Buhlebenkosi Maphosa, John Mabuyane and Primrose Ndlovu
The play is produced byTheatre in the Park and Theatre for Everyone.Theatre for Everyone is a monthly theatre program that intends to build up theatre audience attendance whilst a creating a marketable, sustainable and support worthy theatre industry.
Taking this play to Theatre in the park is a good opportunity for the actors especially for the upcoming as it will give them exposure and a chance to perform out of the city. This is also a beginning of a relationship between us and Theatre in the park.
