On this week’s menu
Brekkie: Strawberry Avocado and Banana Smoothie
Late Lunch: Flame grilled mixed vegetables
Side Dish: Hassleback Butternut
For the Smoothie:
1 banana sliced
1 avocado peeled and sliced
300mls lacto (or Greek yogurt) it really tastes the same in the end
Blend everything together, pour into a glass and enjoy
Flame grilled mixed vegetables :
Boiled halved sweetcorn
Red peppers halved
French beans (blanched)
Soft poached egg
*Chefs tip poach the eggs in water and vinegar after assembling the salad
*Chefs tip reduce the flame to avoid burning the vegetables
Season the vegetables with salt pepper and mixed baste melted butter on them before the hit the flames, then grill them watching closely to ensure that they don’t burn, remember they each have different cooking times.
Side dish Sunday : Hassleback butternut:
Cut the butternut in half
Peel it and cut thin slices (Hassleback) 3/4 way down
Baste it with melted butter and season with salt and pepper
Oven roast it on grill bake for about and hour
Make garlic butter and pour this over the roast butternut.
