This becomes the first Bulawayo entertainment scene scandal of this scale to emerge in the wake of the global #MeToo movement which is an international campaign against sexual harassment and assault in the entertainment industry.

Many speculations have been doing rounds with regards to women abuse in the entertainment industry and it is anticipated that a chain of naming the abusers is soon to take over social media.

Lenni who in 2015 directed one of Zimbabwe’s most criticized film Qiniso,in 2016 he scooped the National Arts Merit Award for the short film Jane the ghost was named as the man who “manipulated and eventually forced” Laura into having sex with him under the disguise of mentoring her.

Talking to our news crew Mdawini alleges they had an affair some time in April which later turned sour. ” Me and Laura had an extramarital affair, which was later discovered by my wife and everything went haywire she even threated me with unspecified actions for not choosing her as the woman in my life” Lenni further says he has engaged lawyers and is suing Laura for defamation of character.

Although a close source to the proceedings claims the 2 are hyping their latest film #3DaysInLove which should be out any time soon. A hashtag #LenniMdawiniMustFall has already been launched on the social media micro blogging site Twitter.

Many Twitter users have come behind to console Laura and show support for the traumatic experience she shared with the world. We pray this inspires other women to speak out if ever there is such incidences.
