Sizinda based dance outfit Khaya Arts yesterday out-danced five other groups to clinch this year’s Chibuku Neshamwari traditional dance Bulawayo provincial finals held at Phekiwe Beerhall in Nkulumane 12.
The group walked away with $500 and a ticket to represent the province at the grand final in Mutare on August 4. All female ensemble Bambanani came second and pocketed $300 while Imvimbi Arts came third and took home $150.
Khaya Arts director Future Dube who was on cloud nine after the festivities described the victory as a great achievement.
“We have been participating in the competition for the past 4 years so to us its a great achievement and it adds value to our CV, Bulawayo is known as the cultural hub and coming out top is a big thing that will motivate us”
The group which presented Isitshikitsha promised to work hard so they could bring the big one home.
Last year Ezimnyama won the provincial finals held at Manor hotel before the group went on to win the national finals held at White City Stadium in Bulawayo.
