Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo opening was met with sad news as one of the event’s highlight shows was cancelled. The Journeys of Ubuntu show headlined by the legendary Black Umfolosi and all female ensemble Nobuntu promised to be fireworks and was tipped to be one of the festival’s highlights. However yesterday before the opening of the Intwasa Festival, Nobuntu announced on their twitter platform that the show had been cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control.

No announcement came from the legendary Imbube group that are currently on tour.
The show was scheduled to be on the 28th of September at the Bulawayo Theatre. This comes as bad news to the Imbube loving City of Bulawayo as Nobuntu is said to be leaving for a tour on Sunday, which might be a round up for the year.
The Journeys of Ubuntu is not the only show that has so far been cancelled as the Writing Master Class facilitated by Philani Nyoni has also been cancelled. Commenting on his Facebook account, PAN as he is affectionately known highlighted that postponing the event was a no doer. He also took some time to share his frustration at the community’s lack of attendance.
