Tonight Bulawayo comes alive as Miss Tourism Zimbabwe is set to be held in the City. The 21 competitors due to take on the ramp are all eyeing at succeeding reigning Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Ashleigh Morgen at the Rainbow Hotel car park.
Miss Tourism Zimbabwe chairperson Sibusisiwe Dube-Muleya highlighted that they had been able to acquire sponsorship for the pageant.
“The winning Queen will receive $10 000 while the first princess will be awarded with $7 000. The second princess will get $5 000. We’re still waiting for one sponsor to confirm his package so it could be more,” Dube-Muleya .
Tickets to the event are priced at $25 (ordinary ticket) and $50 (VIP ticket) and can be bought at the Rainbow Hotel. Those attending the red carpet event are expected to adhere to the black tie dress code.
On broadcasting the event Dube-Muleya said the organisers were still in talks with the national broadcaster ZBCTV for the event to be shown live on local television. However she also pointed out that it will live stream on the social media platform Facebook using the CITE and TechMag pages.
Miss Tourism Zimbabwe licence-holder Sarah Mpofu-Sibanda expressed how this was a tight competition as the competitors had brought their A game.
“It’s very difficult to pick out who you think will win the competition as all the models are certainly ready for Saturday,” said Mpofu-Sibanda.
The regular hosts Zaza Ndlovu and Morris Touch will be the hosts of the night, with Sandra Ndebele and Cal_Vin headlining the entertainment.
Outgoing Queen Ashleigh Morgen has been on the throne for the past 2 years.
