The new project titled “Teenage Trail (Home of Deception)” premiers on Sartuday at Bulawayo Theatre.
“The film is a recreation of a Vuzu party gone wrong, and it revisits what happens at these parties that have become popular with Bulawayo teens” said Mthabisi who doubles up as the director and writer of the film.
Vuzu parties have become infamously problematic in Bulawayo as teenagers convene at different venues to engage in sexual orgies, alcohol and drug abuse in the disguise of a house party.
Ndlovu explained that the movie is about a group of teenagers who go to a house party without informing their parents. Their worst nightmare comes alive when one teen girl goes missing without a trace.
“I hope to cultivate a culture of delivering more local film productions to our films and at the same time create a viable film industry, despite the financial challenges that we are all facing” added Ndlovu
The film has a cast of 18 actors and runs for 1hour 40 minutes.
