Arts Extra is set to light up Bulawayo from December 27 2018- January 1 2019.
The fiesta, which previously ran under the Intwasa Arts Festival banner last year will this year run as Arts Extra and will offer alternative entertainment for arts lovers in the city during the festive season.
“The first edition of Arts Extra has shedded light on the fact that not everyone wants to party during the festive season, as some prefer a mellow kind of entertainment” said Raisedon Baya who is part of the organisers of Arts Extra.
Arts Extra has eleven major shows in theatre, dance, poetry and comedy and will be showcased in two major venues one of them being Bulawayo theatre which will host a huge chunk of the events.
Some of the productions that are set to be on stage during the 4 day festival include “Thalitha Koum” by Victory Siyanqoba, “Who’s Wise” by Ulemu Arts, “Zandezi” by Zimbabwe Arts Academy,”Ukama” by Savanna Trust and “The Witch Hunters” by Centre for Talent Development (CTD).The ever globe trotting dance ensemble Iyasa is expected to close down Arts Extra on January 1 with a show dubbed “Iyasa’s 2 decades of dance”.
