He is an Afrocentric musician born and bred in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. His name is De Lukes and he is our man crush this Monday. The dreadlocked musician touches up his genre with a fusion of Mbira and modern proclivities backed up by a live band.
We crush on this hottie today and get to know more about him. De Lukes says he first exhibited a serious interest in the arts from a tender age and it wasn’t long before he settled for music as his chosen art form.
His notable highlights performances were at Harare International Festival, Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo, Ibumba International Arts Festival,Karibu Music Festival (Tanzania), Jozi Book Fair and Watana Festival Island of Mozambique.
De Lukes hopes to use his influence and talent as a musician to help solve some of our growing social problems. As a social commentator he is actively involved in the community improvement initiatives.
He participated at the Arts Moves Bulawayo to Glasglow project funded by British council ,Many Studios and Mema Arts where he was a vocal and Mbira tutor for aspiring musicians in the community.
