Culxuresport relieves the key moments of the game, which have generated a lot of debate on every football platform in Zimbabwe.

The bees that invaded the pitch just a few minutes into the match had everyone including the referees on their tummies on the field of play; it was quite a spectacle to behold. Did it have to do with African science as both teams failed to find the target?

-Prince Dube twice hitting the woodwork with stinging drives was the highlight of Bosso’s dominance in the first half. Big matches are determined utilizing the few chances that come your way and both teams will agree.

Caps United substitute Kudzai Nyamufukudza who replaced Blessing Sarupinda in the 27th minute should have been sent off if referee Thabani Bhamala had not been lenient for crude tackles committed in the first and second half.

Substitution of Mbekezeli Sibanda who was Bosso’s brightest prospect for Godfrey Makaruse turned the match into Makepekepe favor.

-Was Valentine Ndaba pushed inside the box or was it a body check? Bhamala and Nyika saw otherwise and waved away Caps United’s penalty claims in the second half. Caps gaffer Lloyd Chitembwe is convinced, that was a clear penalty.

“From where I was seated that was a penalty, a push in the box is a direct free kick and so that was a penalty,” said Chitembwe

-Events that followed after perhaps deserved much harsher punishments from Bhamala. Gabriel Nyoni kicking Prince Dube in an off the ball incident after Dube had been hacked down by an excessively aggressive Dominic Chungwa. Bhamala was only yellow carded beleaguered Nyoni and Bosso’s Peter Mudhuwa, who almost “chocked” Nyoni to death in the melee.

-Then in the referee’s optional time Joel Ngodzo’s stinger was too hot for Bosso goalie Ariel Sibanda to handle and imposing center back Goodwin Goriyathi reacted quickest to slot home what Makepekepe fans thought was the winning goal but alas Nyika had long flagged for offside before the defender had even tapped home.

-Caps walked off the Barbourfields turf, feeling robbed but there was very little to separate both teams in a game of two halves.

What the coaches said

Madinda Ndlovu

I think we have to focus on the game and not the point gained. We probably witnessed one of the most exciting matches; remember there was more to fight for other than the points at stake, we are both sponsored by Netone. They were a lot of chances that were missed by both teams but I’m satisfied with the result.

Lloyd Chitembwe

Highlanders were dominant in the first half, we couldn’t get our passing right but later on as we stabilized in the second half we created very good opportunities unfortunately we couldn’t bury one or two. Unfortunately the one that went in was disallowed, at the end of the day we applied ourselves according to how we had planned for the day.
