The much – anticipated Umcimbi Extra that was scheduled to take place in Bulawayo tonight has been cancelled. Dr. Malinga was billed to be the headline act for the show which was rescheduled after cancelling his performance at the Skyz Metro FM Umcimbi Wabantu in September this year.

The show was set to take place at the Large City Hall in Bulawayo and was to feature Clement Magwaza,Asaph and Mzoe7.

In a statement, event organisers Skyz Metro FM, said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel the Dr. Malinga show which was for this evening. Dr. Malinga experienced challenges at the OR Tambo airport in South Africa making it impossible for him to travel. All efforts in conjunction with him to rescue the situation were unsuccessful forcing us to reach this sad decision”.

However the station has organised a Apoloparty which is set to be held at the Vista tonight as part of an apology to its loyal listeners.

“As part of our apology we have organised an Apoloparty tonight at the Vista, the show will be free of charge and beverages will be sold at a give away price and snacks will be served. High riding hip hop artist Asaph will headline the party together with Mzoe7 and Vista DJ’s, we know that this cannot be sufficient to replace the initial show but lets go and have fun.” Skyz Metro FM said.

It is not the only show that has been cancelled in Zimbabwe this week, The Castle Lager National Braai Day which was slated for the Old Hararians Sports Club today and tomorrow was postponed due to the SADC solidarity day against illegal Western sanctions on Zimbabwe march.
