Bulawayo ward councillors will this Friday be subjected to an afternoon of comic heckling in a one-off show dubbed “Creative accountability leadership radical roast”, the roast will put local leaders to task on issues and promises made before the 2018 elections.
Ward 4 councillor Silas Chigora who was in August jointly accused of assaulting the Town Clerk together with former Bulawayo deputy mayor Tinashe Kambarami will take part in the roast. He will be joined by Kucaca Phulu, Rodney Jele, Mlandu Ncube and Anorld Batirai.
Speaking to our news crew Umahlekisa Comedy Club founder Ntando Van Moyo said they hope to expand it to a national event and use humour to account for more missing resources in Zimbabwe. “We will not only account for political leaders but everyone who is in leadership that deals with the public, even church leaders won’t be spared.
Award-winning comedian Ntando “Van” Moyo will lead the list of comedians set to be part of the roast team while activist and journalist Brighton Ncube is set to be the roast master.
